British Heart Foundation partners with Progress to Excellence Ltd to hold life saving event for Birkenhead Locals
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has partnered with Progress to Excellence Ltd (a national apprenticeship training provider), to ‘Turn The Shed Red’ and help raise money for the BHF’s life saving heart research.
The event will be held on Thursday, 26th April between 12pm-2pm at the Progress to Excellence Ltd head office, Pacific Road, Birkenhead, CH41 7JL, with support from The Wirral Chamber of Commerce and 24 local businesses.
Visitors can learn life saving skills by watching live CPR demonstrations, try tasty and healthy BHF recipes at the dedicated on-site restaurant Bistro No 4 and learn invaluable health advice from BHF representatives – making it an alternative fun packed day-out with family or friends.
Meryl Davies, Regional Support Manager at the BHF said, “With support from the Birkenhead community, we are hoping to make this event a huge success and in turn raise life saving funds in the fight for every heartbeat. We’d love for as many of the locals to pop along and have a great day out with their kids, friends or families – it couldn’t be easier to have fun whilst supporting us.”
Damian Burdin, CEO of Progress to Excellence Ltd said, “Here at Progress to Excellence Ltd, we are really excited to be working with The British Heart Foundation to turn our head office into a hive of red activity on Thursday 26 April – we’re even getting the other residents of Pacific Road involved with the support of the Wirral Chamber! We have lots of activities planned on the day in conjunction with The British Heart Foundation, and our staff have already been busy filling bags upon bags of donations for use in BHF shops.
As a company it is our culture to give back, and we are always looking for new and innovative ways to get the local community and our partners involved with such charitable drives. Our strong community commitment is one of the things which sets us apart from the rest, and I feel incredibly proud of my colleagues for getting behind such a great cause, in a bid to raise plenty of money when we #TurnTheShedRed.”
The event will be held in a converted tram shed and encouraging visitors to help #TurnTheShedRed by wearing red and donating a minimum of £1 to help support the BHF’s vital work into beating heartbreak for good. The local Birkenhead community will also be encouraged to donate their good quality unwanted clothes, bags, shoes DVD’s and accessories on the day, which will go on to be sold in local BHF shops.
For locals keen to donate the gift of time – volunteering could be easier. Whether you have an hour, a day or a week to spare, the BHF is always looking for an extra pair of hands and representatives will be at the event to discuss these great opportunities.
