Designed for first line managers with some responsibility for budgeting, allocating work and achieving specific results

The qualification aims to give professionals an opportunity to develop their management performance within a working environment, become more effective in  their role and to progress in their career. It is suitable for professionals in a wide range of industries such as finance, marketing, construction and education to name just a few. It will cover topics such as managing conflict within a team, implementing and maintaining business continuity plans and processes and developing working relationships with stakeholders.

Who can do this course?

This qualification is suitable for job roles in any sector that involve management and leadership responsibilities, such as:

  • Section manager
  • Assistant manager
  • Trainee manager
  • Senior supervisor.

Course duration and attendance

This apprenticeship lasts for 24 months. Over the length of your course, you will receive face to face visits from your assessor at your workplace. There will also be some self-study elements, however, your tutor will offer advice and guidance around this.

Mandatory units include:

  • Manage conflict within a team
  • Implement and maintain business continuity plans and processes
  • Develop working relationships with stakeholders
  • Recruitment, selection and induction practice
  • Manage events
  • Resolve customers’ complaints.

Functional Skills

This is a mandatory part of the course unless you already hold relevant Functional Skills/Key Skills qualifications or GCSE English and maths. Certificates must be provided for exemption from this part of the course. You will be asked to complete an initial assessment at induction to help us support you with this. You will then be assigned an assessor in this area to fully support you throughout this part of your course. You will be required to sit short examinations to complete Functional Skills.

Course costs

The cost of this course is £2,000 for levy paying employers, or £100 for co-investment employers. This apprenticeship is also offered as a standalone diploma on a commercial basis, and can also be funded via a student funded loan.
