Suitable for senior leadership professionals

Developed by the Institute for Apprenticeships with the help of some leading employers, this qualification is ideal for those who are already working in a role, such as; a Regional Manager, Departmental Manager or Operations Manager.

This qualification will support students to meet the objectives of their job role. It will give students the chance to develop new skills and knowledge in areas, such as: leading people, project management, finance and operational management.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirement for this apprenticeship will be decided by each employer. All students need to already be employed for 16 hours or more per week, working in an operational/senior management position and must be responsible for a team.

Assessment methods

  • Regular assessment by the designated tutor who will come and visit the student within their workplace contact them via Skype/remote session. These activities will to develop their e-portfolio
  • They will observe, carry out question and answer sessions and use audio recordings to assess. Students will also be set tasks and work on between sessions
  • Use their day-to-day activities to help evidence the work for each of unit. Students will show evidence of 360-degree feedback within their e-portfolio

Progression

On completion of this apprenticeship, students may choose to register as a Fellow member with the Institute of Leadership & Management, to support their professional career development and progression.

Functional Skills

This is a mandatory part of the course unless you already hold relevant Functional Skills/Key Skills qualifications or GCSE English and maths. Certificates must be provided for exemption from this part of the course. You will be asked to complete an initial assessment at induction to help us support you with this. You will then be assigned an assessor in this area to fully support you throughout this part of your course. You will be required to sit short examinations to complete Functional Skills.

Course costs

The cost of this course is £7,500 for levy paying employers, or £375 for co-investment employers. This apprenticeship is also offered as a standalone diploma on a commercial basis, and can also be funded via a student funded loan.
